Job Overview:
A well-established law firm with a national insurance litigation and coverage practice is seeking a skilled Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join its team in Boston. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney with a background in litigation, insurance defense, or coverage law to contribute to high-impact cases, including complex insurance coverage disputes, pre-litigation analysis, and bad faith matters. The role offers exposure to a diverse array of issues and the chance to work closely with national insurers in state and federal courts.

Location:

  • Boston, Massachusetts

Duties:

  • Represent insurers in complex coverage disputes across various jurisdictions

  • Handle pre-litigation investigations and provide strategic guidance to clients

  • Draft coverage opinions, pleadings, discovery documents, and dispositive motions

  • Manage litigation matters from inception through trial or resolution

  • Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations

  • Counsel clients on best practices and risk mitigation regarding claims handling

  • Analyze policy provisions, exclusions, and endorsements in commercial and personal lines

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in litigation, insurance defense, and/or insurance coverage

  • Familiarity with insurance coverage or bad faith claims handling preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a litigation caseload independently

  • Experience in both state and federal court proceedings

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Strong academic record preferred

Certifications:

  • Active admission to the Massachusetts Bar or eligibility for prompt admission

  • Additional bar admissions in Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York, or Rhode Island are a plus

Skills:

  • Excellent research, analytical, and legal writing skills

  • Strong oral advocacy and communication abilities

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
