Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a Senior eDiscovery Attorney to manage and advise on all facets of eDiscovery strategy in complex litigation and regulatory matters. This position plays a critical leadership role in shaping the eDiscovery process, working directly with attorneys, clients, and external vendors. Ideal candidates will have significant experience with document management, advanced legal technology tools, Second Requests, and cross-border data issues.
Location:
Duties:
Develop and implement strategic eDiscovery plans for high-stakes litigation and investigations
Oversee document collection, review, and production workflows
Serve as liaison between legal teams, clients, and eDiscovery vendors
Lead privilege review, log creation, and quality control measures
Draft and negotiate TAR Protocols, ESI Protocols, confidentiality orders, and search agreements
Coordinate and conduct custodian interviews and scope development
Prepare and manage eDiscovery budgets; negotiate vendor contracts and pricing
Participate in meet-and-confer sessions with opposing parties or regulatory bodies
Draft responses to RFPs, subpoenas, and related discovery correspondence
Support attorneys in deposition preparation and motion practice
Conduct legal research regarding discovery rules and procedural issues across jurisdictions
Train and advise internal attorneys on discovery laws, trends, and best practices
Lead firmwide eDiscovery education and innovation efforts
Work on special firm-initiated projects as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in eDiscovery or complex litigation
Demonstrated expertise in Second Requests and regulatory review processes
Experience negotiating with opposing counsel and government entities
Strong background in managing large-scale review projects
High proficiency in using eDiscovery technologies including Relativity and TAR tools
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Licensed to practice in the office state or eligible for admission
Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of the eDiscovery lifecycle, legal requirements, and case strategy
Deep understanding of privilege doctrines, data privacy, and cross-border data issues
Strong project management and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Technologically proficient and able to lead on technical aspects of litigation
Capable of managing multiple matters and stakeholders simultaneously
High level of professionalism, integrity, and analytical thinking
