Job Title: Transactional Quantitative Analyst
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial models for various scenarios, including pro forma capitalization, pro rata calculations, stock conversions, company recapitalization events, and preliminary market overhang analyses.
- Develop hypothetical liquidation waterfall models based on different deal scenarios.
- Construct closing payment spreadsheets for M&A transactions, ensuring alignment with merger agreements.
- Assist in 280G analyses, utilizing data on compensation, capitalization, and deals.
- Audit spreadsheets from clients, investors, investment banks, or other law firms to confirm accuracy.
- Provide mathematical analysis to complete transaction materials for financings, mergers, acquisitions, or public offerings.
- Maintain and update model/template capitalization spreadsheets for calculations.
- Assist in training junior attorneys and paralegals or other business professionals in Excel to achieve deliverables.
- Record all time daily, including billable, productive, admin, and PTO, and release it in accordance with specified narratives where applicable.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm or data analysis.
- Proficient in Excel, with the ability to perform analysis and generate reports.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for day-to-day projects.
- Excellent communication skills to explain analysis to attorneys, paralegals, and clients.
- Self-starter with a strong bias to action, able to prioritize projects intuitively and maintain meticulous organization to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours as required.
Salary Information:
- The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, with other locations potentially listed.
- The actual base pay will depend on various factors, including the selected candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location.
- Anticipated pay range:
- San Francisco and Silicon Valley: - per hour
- Austin, Boston, Boulder, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Seattle, and Wilmington: - per hour
- Salt Lake City and all other locations: - per hour
- Compensation may include overtime and a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance.
