Litigation Paralegal – Charleston

Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC is seeking to fill a Litigation Paralegal position in its Charleston office. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in litigation, preferably in a law firm environment.

The primary duties of the Litigation Paralegal include, but are not limited to:

• Drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents;
• Organizing and managing documents and records;
• Preparing for, attending, and taking notes in client meetings, depositions, hearings, and mediations;
• Researching legal issues and preparing memoranda;
• Assisting with trial preparation;
• Assisting attorneys with other tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program;
• Minimum of two years of experience in litigation, preferably in a law firm environment;
• Knowledge of West Virginia Rules of Civil Procedure;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Excellent communication, research, writing, and organizational skills;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
