Programs Available:
- Court Administration & Courthouse Operations
- Judicial and Courtroom Operations
- Family Court Services Mediation (requires ASCW or AMFT accreditation)
- Paralegal (requires paralegal certification or current study)
Paralegal Program:
- Provides quality work experience
- Assists with preparation of legal documents for cases involving child support, spousal support, and health insurance issues
- Participants receive experience preparing legal documents, access to networking opportunities, and an overview of Court processes and procedures
- Placement areas include Family Law (Self-Help Centers, Domestic Violence Clinic, Guardianship Clinic, Toll Family Law Counseling Center with LAFLA)
- Ideal for students currently enrolled in paralegal schools, colleges, and universities throughout LA County or individuals who have completed a Paralegal certificate program
Volunteer Requirements:
- Must be willing to volunteer without pay or compensation from the Court or a third party
- May receive aid or benefits as part of a government program
Application Process:
- Eligible applicants will be placed on a list for up to 6 months and considered for available opportunities
