Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Partner specializing in Family Office and High Net Worth at the company, you will be part of a high-performing practice that provides compliance and consulting services to multi-generational wealthy families, their private businesses, investment entities, and family offices. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing your expertise in taxation to address the complex tax needs of high net worth clients.
- Engaging in tax consulting tailored for family office and high net worth clients.
- Diagnosing, developing, and implementing solutions to meet clients' tax needs effectively.
- Supporting financial growth efforts and managing a book of business.
- Planning client engagements and providing comprehensive tax consulting services.
- Managing compliance projects and supervising the work of team staff members.
- Reviewing tax returns for wealthy family members, their trusts, investment entities, and private businesses.
- Working closely with clients, internal managers, and partners to maintain and develop outstanding client relationships.
- Articulating complex tax information and laws clearly through strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Developing and maintaining exceptional client service standards.
Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a CPA License or JD is required.
- At least 12 years of continuous public accounting or family office tax experience.
- Strong experience with high net worth clients, covering areas such as personal taxation, trust taxation, estate & gift taxation, charitable taxation, and exposure to flow-through entities, partnership taxation, and corporate taxation, including State & Local income (SALT)/Franchise tax for multi-state filers.
- Experience in reviewing tax returns for wealthy families and their associated trusts, investment entities, and private businesses across various industries.
- Ability to manage and grow a client book of business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master’s Degree in Taxation or a Law Degree.
- Experience working with a Big 4 or large national, regional, or local accounting firm.
- Experience working with Private Foundations.
- Exposure to reporting and filings related to foreign assets, investments, and holdings.
- Proven ability to develop new business relationships and expand services to existing clients.
