Job Title: Legal Intern
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in protecting residents from discrimination, fraud, unfair labor or business practices, and other crimes.
- Work within specific divisions such as the Consumer Protection Division, which focuses on enforcing laws to protect consumers from fraud, deception, and other unfair practices.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support ongoing cases and investigations.
- Draft legal documents, memos, and reports under the supervision of attorneys.
- Participate in meetings and discussions related to case strategies and legal proceedings.
- Provide support in preparing for court appearances and hearings.
- Collaborate with other interns and staff members on various projects and initiatives.
Education and Experience Information:
- Must be a current law school student.
- Individuals who have completed law school are not eligible for this program.
- Legal internships are offered for the fall and spring semesters.
Salary Information:
- The internship positions are unpaid.
Additional Information:
- Legal interns are accepted on a case-by-case basis depending on the needs and requests of individual divisions.
- Interns are typically assigned to a particular division within the office.
