Job Title: Legal Intern
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage in practical legal work as part of high-volume trial lawyer teams.
- Participate actively in all facets of the criminal justice system, including courtroom experience, client interactions, and research and writing tasks.
- Gain courtroom exposure under the supervision of experienced trial attorneys, with opportunities to appear on the record.
- Attend comprehensive orientations and reviews designed to prepare interns for their roles and address any queries.
- Collaborate with the Arraignment Division on weekends for weekend arraignments, subject to availability.
- Coordinate schedules within operational hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, with potential weekend work.
Education and Experience Information:
- Applicants must be enrolled in law school or an accredited college.
- A strong academic record is required.
- Demonstrated passion for criminal law and public defense is essential.
- Commitment to justice, integrity, and making a positive impact is crucial.
Internship Schedules:
- Interns must commit to a minimum of two days per week, dedicating 4 to 6 hours each day, resulting in a weekly total of 8 to 12 hours.
- Schedules for social work and investigator interns may vary based on school requirements and prevailing caseloads.
