Job Title: Tax Managing Director, Core Tax Services
Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Managing Director is tasked with advising clients on the tax implications of their business decisions and managing complex tax issues. Key duties include:
- Tax Compliance: Ensures clients comply with all applicable tax authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens. Manages engagements to meet engagement management metrics and ensures adherence to company policies and standards.
- Research: Identifies issues requiring research and reports on the analysis. Provides research methodology for efficient research processes and acts as a technical reviewer in areas of expertise.
- ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals: Applies company policies and standards regarding income tax provisions, focusing on international tax, valuation allowance credits, business combinations, and stock-based compensation issues.
- Tax Consulting: Develops and implements methods to maximize client benefits, especially by reducing taxes. Combines tax knowledge with business/industry knowledge to recommend solutions.
- Tax Specialization: Develops expertise in specific areas of taxation, such as corporate, sales, state and local, international, expatriate, and transfer pricing. Advises clients on tax implications and compliance methods.
- Strategy Development: Introduces new or improved strategies to enhance clients' positions or reduce expenses.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises associates, senior associates, and managers, provides performance feedback, and acts as a career advisor.
Education and Experience Information:
- Education: A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for majors in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics. A master's degree in Accountancy or Taxation is preferred.
- Experience: Requires ten or more years of relevant tax experience, including public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services. Prior supervisory experience is required.
- License/Certifications: A CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent is required. Additional professional degrees or certifications are preferred.
Salary Information:
Salaries are determined based on several factors including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The salary ranges are as follows:
- California: $190,000 - $335,000
- Colorado: $185,000 - $225,000
- Illinois: $175,000 - $250,000
- Maryland: $190,000 - $260,000
- Massachusetts: $205,000 - $300,000
- Minnesota: $170,000 - $250,000
- New Jersey: $190,000 - $300,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $205,000 - $250,000
- Washington: $196,400 - $249,400
- Washington DC: $205,000 - $300,000
