Job Title: Litigation Special Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
Attorneys in this role are responsible for managing a high volume of litigation matters, with a focus on arbitration rather than circuit court proceedings. The role requires a high degree of autonomy, and candidates must be self-motivated and capable of maintaining focus in an office setting. Key responsibilities include conducting legal research and writing, discovery, drafting motions, arguing motions in court, and participating in depositions and trials. Experience in mediation, arbitration, and litigation related to insurance claims, construction and design defect claims, and related matters is strongly preferred. The candidate should also have a proven ability to settle cases and possess strong organizational and time management skills. Managing a team of paralegals and support staff is considered beneficial.
Education and Experience Information:
The candidate must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA)-approved law school. They must also be in good standing and an active member of the Florida Bar. The position requires 2 to 7 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate should have strong legal research and writing skills, and experience in discovery, drafting motions, court appearances, depositions, and trials. Experience in mediation, arbitration, and litigation of insurance claims, construction and design defect claims, and related matters is strongly preferred. A proven track record in settling cases is important, as well as strong organizational and time management skills. Prior experience in managing a team of paralegals and support staff is beneficial.
Salary Information:
The expected salary range for the position is between $130,000 and $140,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

The role is a full-time, non-partner track position supporting the Construction Practice Group within the Litigation Department.
