Job Responsibilities
As a 2026 2L Finance Summer Associate at the law firm, you will gain comprehensive experience within the Finance Business Unit. Your responsibilities include:
- Engaging in substantive work across various practice groups such as Banking & Finance, Public Finance, Real Estate, Restructuring, and Structured Finance.
- Participating in assignments that provide a broad understanding of legal practice, including the opportunity to shadow attorneys.
- Attending national and local training sessions, workshops on legal writing skills, and sessions aimed at enhancing public speaking abilities.
- Engaging in unique programming and social events designed to foster connections with fellow Summer Associates and law firm attorneys. Past events have included classes on sushi making, charcuterie boards, and candle making, as well as attending baseball games, canoeing, sailing, beach cycling, karaoke, Top Golf, bowling, and chocolate tastings.
Education and Experience Information
Applicants must be rising 2Ls (class of 2027) pursuing a JD at an ABA-accredited law school. Students attending a part-time program or pursuing a JD/MBA degree at an ABA-accredited law school, who are not graduating in 2027, are also eligible to apply.
The law firm is seeking students who exhibit strong academic credentials and have demonstrated an interest in the Finance Business Unit. Relevant past work experience and/or academic exposure in finance-related fields is expected. Applicants must submit a resume, transcript (including Spring semester grades when available), and a cover letter articulating their interest in both the position and the law firm.
Salary Information
The expected gross salary for the 2026 2L Finance Summer Associate position is $4, per week. The law firm is committed to offering a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package, which may include an annual discretionary merit bonus based on both firm and individual performance.
