Job Title: Specialty Tax Services Associate, International Tax Services - Fall 2025
Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Associate for International Tax Services will leverage their educational background and organizational skills while taking direction from more experienced team members to assist in consulting with clients on cross-border tax matters. Key responsibilities include:
- Tax Consulting: Developing, recommending, and implementing critical thinking to provide clients with tax advice on international tax issues. The role involves gaining exposure to client work plans, learning about relevant international tax laws, monitoring tax law developments, and coordinating with non-US colleagues in about 160 countries to understand how US tax rules align with foreign tax laws.
- Tax Specialization: Developing an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues regarding international taxation and exploring specialization in one or more international tax areas.
- Research: Identifying when research is necessary, framing issues to be researched, accessing reliable sources, analyzing facts and authorities, and preparing Written Tax Advice (WTA) on international tax and cross-border transactions.
- Tax Compliance: Assisting in obtaining required client information for international tax compliance forms and US international informational reporting. Understanding tax compliance topics such as Subpart F income, Earnings and Profits adjustments, foreign tax credits, and analyzing cross-border transactions for tax return impacts.
- Tax Controversy: Learning about representing clients before the IRS on contested issues.
- Tax Technology: Using tax research databases and tax-related software with supervision.
- ASC 740-10: Developing a basic understanding of ASC 740-10 as it applies to international tax issues and adhering to company policies, standards, and the Tax Quality Manual.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting or another business-related major.
- A ., LLM, and/or MST/MBT is preferred.
- An internship within a professional services firm is preferred, along with tax experience.
- Preferred licenses/certifications include CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) or equivalent.
Software:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
- Experience utilizing RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, and/or Westlaw is preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and basic legal and tax research skills.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines and focus on details.
- Capability to successfully multi-task independently or within a team.
- Ability to interact successfully with professionals at all levels.
- Basic understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding taxation and law.
- Basic knowledge of general calculations and cause/effect for taxable conditions on clients.
- Strong legal writing background and familiarity with the IRAC method of analysis.
- In-depth understanding of technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding one or more areas of taxation.
Salary Information:
Individual salaries are determined considering various factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The salary ranges are as follows:
- California: $78,000 - $120,000
- Illinois: $74,000 - $100,000
- Maryland: $75,000 - $100,000
- Minnesota: $72,000 - $100,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $82,000 - $120,000
- Washington: $78,000 - $120,000
- Washington, DC: $75,000 - $100,000
