Job Title: Tax Experienced Senior, Alternative Investments

Job Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance:
- Ensure clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
- Ensure self and client service teams comply with company policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual.
- Apply understanding of client’s unique circumstances, documentation, and legal requirements to prepare required tax filings.
- Collect necessary data to comply with filing requirements and communicate any missing items to prepare returns.
- Utilize company compliance software to maximize efficiency in the tax preparation process.
- Collaborate effectively with Managers and Associates on project completion, following up with open items.
- Deliver high-quality federal, state, and international tax compliance services.
- Lead complex engagements with a team of tax professionals.
- Manage engagements, including billing, collections, and budgeting for projects.
- Document client work and conclusions in the client tax file.

Tax Consulting:
- Assist in identifying, developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective tax strategies.

Other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Mentor teams of Associates.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics required; OR Bachelor’s degree in another focus area AND CPA certification required.
- Master’s Degree in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.

Experience:
- Three or more years of tax experience required.
- Financial Services industry experience supporting Alternative Investment funds including Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds preferred.
- Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships preferred.

License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent preferred.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role preferred.

Software:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases preferred.
- Proficient in tax compliance process software preferred.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions as directed by members of the Tax Team.
- Takes appropriate actions without being asked.
- Seeks advice of appropriate superiors regarding issues, problems related to compliance.

Salary Information:

Individual salaries offered to candidates are determined after considering numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

Salary Ranges by Location:
- California: $96,000 - $125,000
- Colorado: $80,000 - $100,000
- Illinois: $90,000 - $108,000
- Maryland: $95,000 - $110,000
- Massachusetts: $100,000 - $115,000
- Minnesota: $80,000 - $95,000
- New Jersey: $95,000 - $125,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $100,000 - $120,000
- Washington: $83,000 - $115,000
- Washington DC: $100,000 - $115,000
