Duane Morris LLP, a global law firm with over 800 attorneys in offices around the world, is seeking a skilled IP Docketing Specialist to join our Intellectual Property Practice Group. In this role, you will provide docketing support for patent and trademark matters, ensuring deadlines are met and clients' needs are met with efficiency and accuracy.
As an IP Docketing Specialist at Duane Morris LLP, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced attorneys and gain valuable experience in the field of intellectual property. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Calendars dates for patent and trademark filings, formalities, office actions, and maintenance fees.
- Downloads and files electronic correspondence from USPTO, foreign patent offices, and foreign agents.
- Circulates incoming correspondence to appropriate attorney teams.
- Prepares docket reports and monitors due dates to ensure timely compliance.
- Reviews outstanding dates in docketing database and consults with supervisor for guidance.
- Opens and closes matters in docketing database as needed.
- Assists with intakes and transfers for new clients and changes in counsel.
- Participates in IP practice group and docketing team meetings.
- Provides back-up support to other docketers as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum of 3 years prior experience in IP docketing or related work.
- Thorough understanding of domestic and foreign patent and trademark prosecution.
- Familiarity with USPTO, WIPO, and other patent and trademark offices.
- Knowledge of docketing terminology, best practices, and patent & trademark laws.
- Experience with docketing databases, Patricia preferred.
- Familiarity with patent and trademark office websites.
- Strong computer skills and ability to analyze data.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, time management skills, problem-solving mindset, and collaborative spirit.
