Position Description:
The Court's volunteer programs provide participants with valuable opportunities for practical work experience and skill development while familiarizing them with court procedures and operations. These programs aim to enhance understanding and appreciation for the judicial system. The Court offers various volunteer programs, including the Paralegal program, which provides experience in preparing legal documents for cases involving child support, spousal support, and health insurance issues. Participants in this program have access to networking opportunities and an overview of Court processes and procedures.

Volunteers donate their services without pay from the Court and without compensation or credit from a third party. This program is open to students currently enrolled in paralegal schools, colleges, and universities throughout LA County, as well as individuals who have completed a Paralegal certificate program. Most programs also allow participation as a volunteer.

What to Expect Next:
If you meet the qualifications for the program you applied for, you will be placed on an eligibility list for up to 6 months and considered for available opportunities.
