Job Responsibilities:
- Join the Nursing Home Defense, Medical Malpractice, and General Litigation team at the law firm.
- Attendance is required for this office position located in Downtown Chicago.
- Communicate complex information effectively to stakeholders with varying levels of expertise, ensuring accessibility and understanding.
- Exhibit excellent persuasive writing skills to support legal arguments and case documentation.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion, handling highly confidential and privileged information appropriately.
- Develop and sustain client and coworker relationships through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within the team, balancing short-term and long-term strategic goals.
- Prioritize and manage multiple and competing deadlines, showcasing analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Use billing software proficiently.
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including motions and pleadings.
- Support the discovery process by answering and issuing written discovery, administering depositions, and examining documents.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
- Perform legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
- Make court appearances as necessary to represent clients and argue cases.
- Conduct and summarize depositions to gather and present relevant information.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited US law school is required.
- Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois or have taken the Illinois Bar examination in the last 6 months and be awaiting results.
