Responsibilities:
- Advise on and support regulatory investigations and inquiries
- Mitigate risk associated with compliance and safety matters
- Support and advise various departments in new vehicle development and business strategy
- Stay up-to-date on newly enacted laws and shape policy in the automotive, autonomous vehicle, and ride-hailing industries
- Make recommendations on complex legal problems and collaborate with Tesla leadership, regulators, and outside counsel

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA accredited law school and active member of a state bar in good standing
- Ability to absorb and synthesize a wide variety of laws and regulations
- Strong business and legal judgment, problem-solving, research, and project management skills
- Preferably, experience working in the automotive industry or for a government safety agency or law firm supporting the same
- Preferably, an engineering or technical background and/or significant transportation or vehicle safety experience
- Preferably, experience in the ride-hailing industry or advising on ride-hailing regulations and permitting requirements
