In this role, you will play a crucial part in the efficient operation of our Business Intake Department by ensuring the accurate and timely opening of new matters. Responsibilities:
- Review new matter memos for accuracy and completion
- Follow up on incomplete or inaccurate new matter memos
- Analyze engagement letters, scope letters, and waivers
- Open new matters, assign billing numbers, and tie in all necessary parties
- Perform general client and matter maintenance
- Adhere to all firm and department policies and procedures related to opening new matters
- Assist with keeping all shared documents current and accurate
- Assist with training and mentoring Jr. Business Intake Specialists as required
- Other related tasks and duties assigned
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of legal experience, preferably with a large law firm in Business Intake
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure with minimal direct supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities
- Strong research, computer, and database skills
- Ability to effectively train and mentor new Business Intake Specialists
