Job Title: Tax Senior - Private Wealth

Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior in the Private Wealth Tax practice, the primary responsibilities include conducting high-level reviews of tax research related to individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely-held corporations, estate, and gift work papers and tax returns. The role also involves preparing for and assisting in client meetings concerning compliance and consulting projects. These projects are related to tax planning opportunities and understanding the tax implications of transactions for clients. The position requires a strategic approach to delivering compliance and consulting services to individual clients, their trusts, estates, family offices, investment vehicles, charitable pursuits, and closely-held business concerns. The role is pivotal in providing solutions to complex tax issues, especially for ultra-affluent clients, including families with multigenerational wealth, entrepreneurs, family offices, and closely-held business owners. The Tax Senior is expected to offer comprehensive, independent, and objective wealth transfer planning advice to help clients make informed, strategic decisions relevant to their personal financial comfort, business and investment needs, family legacy, and charitable giving during their lifetime and through estate planning.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field. Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns. Experience in reviewing trust documents is also required. The role demands excellent technology skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel and compliance software, as well as strong research and writing skills. Candidates must be willing to travel up to 25% on average, based on the work and clients served. Additionally, candidates should have one of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or be willing and able to obtain: Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA, or if not CPA eligible, a Licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent. Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) are also recognized. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree such as MST, JD, or LLM, prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm, and strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. The role also requires strong analytical skills, and the ability to articulate conclusions, planning opportunities, and risks identified through research projects.

Salary Information:
The wage range for the Tax Senior role takes into account various factors considered in making compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is $66,570 to $151,580. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, where an award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
