Job Title: Paralegal Internship
Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal Internship at the organization offers a unique opportunity for students currently enrolled in paralegal schools, colleges, and universities throughout LA County. Interns will have the chance to work in various divisions of the Court, such as Family Law, and specialized programs like the Family Law Facilitator’s Office and Self-Help Centers. These programs are staffed by trained paralegals and attorneys. Interns may assist with the preparation of legal documents for cases involving child support, spousal support, and health insurance issues. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing legal documents
- Gaining exposure to different areas of law, including Family Law, Civil, and Criminal
- Understanding Court procedures
- Networking with legal professionals
- Receiving letters of acknowledgment of service
Education and Experience Information:
Interns are required to have completed a prerequisite course in Civil Litigation and/or Family Law. This ensures that candidates have the foundational knowledge necessary to contribute effectively during their internship.
Hourly Requirements:
The program requires interns to commit to at least one semester and work a minimum of 12 hours per week. This commitment allows interns to gain substantial experience and insight into the workings of the Court.
Salary Information:
