Senior Coverage Director
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Coverage Director will be responsible for managing an inventory of casualty claims with complex coverage issues and Long Tail Exposure (LTE) claims. These claims occur over multiple policy periods and may involve class action litigation. Claims managed in this role may include concussion/head injury, abuse and molestation, chemical/toxic/environmental exposures, and claims potentially triggering the Personal and Advertising Injury coverage grant of Commercial General Liability/Umbrella/Excess coverage.
Responsibilities include managing coverage litigation and arbitration related to the claims described above. This involves overseeing outside counsel for defense in designated coverage disputes, managing and overseeing all aspects of coverage litigation, developing litigation and resolution strategies, managing discovery requests, and attending depositions, mediations, and trials as necessary.
Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate will have 7 or more years of experience as a lawyer and/or claim professional, possessing a high degree of specialized and technical competence in litigation management and handling complex coverage issues, high exposure, and long-term exposure claims, as well as coverage litigation. A law degree is required.
The candidate will also possess:
- Excellent organizational, writing, interpersonal communication, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent customer service skills to work professionally with clients and business partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex operating environment.
- Ability to work independently, identify issues, and assimilate learning materials on various subjects from different sources.
- Experience in senior management reporting.
- If not already licensed, the candidate will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjuster's license and possibly additional state licensure.
Salary Information:
The pay range for this role is $110,800 to $188,400. The specific offer will depend on the applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual incentive program.
