Tax Associate - Trade and Customs - JD/LLM
Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Associate for Trade and Customs will be part of the International Tax practice, focusing on advising clients on import and export matters across various industries. The role involves examining . and international import and export trade issues, conducting research, writing, and reviewing international trade advice, and formulating ideas to deliver potential trade savings opportunities. The associate will assist in delivering multiple client engagements on time and within budget while maintaining active communication to manage client expectations and enhance satisfaction. The role also includes supporting clients with implementing global trade automated solutions and building capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must be pursuing or have obtained a JD and/or LLM in Taxation or International Law, or an equivalent program from an accredited college or university within the past 12 months. A preferred GPA of or above is desired. Candidates should demonstrate a quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and the ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Access. Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills are required, along with flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work. The ability to learn and navigate technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI is essential. Candidates must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using personal or public transportation. Additionally, the ability to travel domestically and internationally and work on-site at client premises as needed, sometimes with short notice, is necessary. Candidates must be authorized to work in the . without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future, as no sponsorship is available for this opportunity.
