Job Title: Legal File Clerk and Intake Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal File Clerk and Intake Specialist at the law firm is tasked with handling both physical and electronic filing needs within the office. The responsibilities include opening and closing client files and managing the destruction of client files in compliance with internal office procedures. The role may involve creating pending client matters within the office software system. Additionally, the File Clerk might be required to deliver files to or retrieve files from an off-site storage facility. Occasionally, the File Clerk may work on more substantive law-related projects, such as drafting correspondence and simple pleadings, preparing trial or deposition notebooks or exhibits, and conducting research under the guidance of the Office Administrator. The position requires the ability to safely and efficiently deliver documents between locations, prioritize projects based on received instructions, follow precise instructions, maintain punctuality, work under time constraints and deadlines, and adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines. The File Clerk must effectively collaborate with other team members, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have proficient computer skills. Professional business-casual attire is expected, reflecting preparedness to serve as a professional member of the organization.
Education and Experience Information:
The position is open to applicants without a college degree, but a high school diploma and relevant work experience are required. It is suitable for military-experienced candidates, individuals with resume gaps or those returning to the workforce after being out for six months or more.
