Job Title: Mid-Level Corporate & Private Equity Associate
Job Responsibilities:
The Mid-Level Corporate & Private Equity Associate will support the Corporate and Private Equity practice at the law firm. The responsibilities include:
- Engaging in various private equity transactions such as leveraged buy-outs, independent sponsor transactions, rollups, minority and junior capital investments, and "going private" transactions.
- Assisting in the purchases of troubled companies, both in and out of bankruptcy.
- Representing emerging managers and general partners in forming private equity, growth equity, venture capital, mezzanine, and real estate funds.
- Participating in the law firm's internationally recognized emerging manager program.
- Collaborating with a team of over 90 attorneys focusing on private equity transactions.
- Contributing to the law firm's standing as a leading national law firm in the corporate sector, consistently ranking high in benchmarking league tables by PitchBook, Bloomberg, Mergermarket, and Refinitiv.
Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates must have 4 - 5 years of experience specifically in acquisitions for private equity funds.
- A strong academic record is required, demonstrating the candidate's ability to perform at a high level.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills are essential, as the role involves significant interaction with clients and colleagues.
- The ability to work independently is crucial for managing client relationships and handling various legal tasks.
- Candidates must be admitted to the Illinois bar, ensuring they are legally qualified to practice in the jurisdiction.
