Job Title: Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in removal/deportation proceedings before . immigration courts and advise on immigration relief options.
- Prepare and file immigration petitions and applications, including family-based petitions, asylum claims, waivers, U visas, T visas, adjustment of status, and naturalization.
- Represent clients in state and federal criminal courts in misdemeanor and felony cases.
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda related to both immigration and criminal matters.
- Prepare and develop case strategies to defend clients.
- Advise non-citizen clients on the immigration consequences of criminal charges (Crimmigration).
- Maintain clear communication with clients with respect to changes and updates in immigration law.
- Negotiate plea agreements with prosecutors to minimize immigration consequences.
- Attend master calendar and individual hearings before immigration judges.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony and represent them in interviews and hearings with USCIS, ICE, and EOIR.
- Collaborate with paralegals, interpreters, and other staff to manage caseload and ensure timely filing of documents.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA accredited . University or Foreign Equivalent is required.
- Must be licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least Florida.
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills are required.
- Previous knowledge and experience working in both Immigration and Florida Criminal Law is highly desirable.
Salary Information:
- Pay ranges from $73, to $85, per year.
