Job Title:
Product Liability & Regulatory Counsel (Bilingual English/Korean)
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead in-house and collaborate with outside legal counsels to minimize risks in the North America region and its subsidiaries.
- Handle product liability litigation and provide advice on product safety.
- Offer legal services on compliance and regulatory issues to internal clients.
- Respond to governmental inquiries on safety and regulatory matters to further business goals and minimize risks.
- Provide legal advice to internal clients concerning product safety and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct fact investigations, review product, and regulation analysis to advise business units on legal risks and mitigation plans.
- Support US/Canada government agency actions, investigations, or inquiries before agencies such as DOE, NRCan, EPA, FDA, FCC, CPSC, Health Canada, etc.
- Coordinate litigation case management with insurance companies and relevant internal clients.
- Communicate with business units and manage outside counsel.
- Conduct legal analysis to advise on product compliance, marketing, internal policy, and product safety as needed.
- Perform regulatory research and assess application to products.
- Advise and support the company’s strategy in identifying environment-related goals.
Education and Experience Information:
- JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school with 2-4 years of combined legal experience preferred; litigation experience is preferred.
- Position of Counsel or Senior Counsel to be determined according to experience.
- Must be currently licensed to practice law in the state of New Jersey or eligible to practice in New Jersey as in-house counsel.
- English and Korean language proficiency required.
- Strong legal research and document drafting skills.
- Ability to attend meetings scheduled in different time zones.
- Ability to travel domestically.
- Superior analytical skills.
- Creative, team-oriented, and collaborative.
Salary Information:
Recruiting Range: $107,, USD
