Reputed Firm in South Carolina is seeking an experienced Attorney V to join their state office. This position offers a competitive salary range of $83, - $153, annually and an exceptional benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance for employee, spouse, and children, paid parental leave, flexible work schedules, and retirement plans.

As the primary attorney for a large state agency with over 1,300 employees and 24,000 consumers, the Attorney V will provide legal counsel and guidance to management on a variety of issues related to the agency's mission of empowering individuals with disabilities. This includes personnel law, policies, procedures, contracts and grants, procurement, worker's compensation, liability and insurance matters, affirmative action, and other laws and regulations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for drafting and reviewing legal documents, representing the agency in administrative proceedings, and overseeing the legal staff.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a juris doctor degree from an accredited law school, 8 years of experience as a practicing attorney, and be a member of the South Carolina Bar in good standing. They must also have a strong understanding of employment law, litigation, and civil procedure, as well as experience with state procurement and federal grants. Additionally, knowledge of HIPAA, state employee ethics laws, and the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act is preferred.
