Job Title: Associate Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research, analysis, and interpretation of legal sources, including statutes, regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions.
- Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception to resolution, ensuring effective legal representation and client satisfaction.
- Monitor case files to ensure compliance with deadlines, and investigate facts and legal issues to develop appropriate defenses and strategies.
- Assist with document review and analysis to support legal proceedings and case development.
- Conduct depositions and appear regularly in court to advocate for clients in professional liability cases.
- Support trial preparation and actively participate in the trial of professional liability cases, contributing to case strategy and outcome.
- Adhere to and follow client guidelines meticulously to ensure client expectations are met and legal standards are upheld.
- Communicate effectively and report appropriately to clients, maintaining transparency and professionalism in all interactions.
Education and Experience Information:
- Applicants must be in good standing with the Illinois bar, demonstrating compliance with legal requirements and ethical standards.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Professional Liability is required, with at least two years of experience in Medical and Dental Malpractice and long-term care defense.
- Strong organization and communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective client interaction and case management.
- Strong research and analytical skills are necessary for developing legal strategies and interpreting legal documents.
- Deposition experience is preferred, indicating familiarity with legal proceedings and the ability to gather information effectively.
Salary Information:
- The salary range for this position is $115, to $130, annually, commensurate with experience.
- The compensation package includes the potential for annual performance-based raises and discretionary bonuses.
- An attractive base salary is reviewed annually, with an associate bonus program and year-end bonus recognizing non-billable efforts such as pro bono work and professional development.
