Job Title: Associate Counsel (Remote)
Job Responsibilities:
The Associate Counsel at the company is responsible for defending lawsuits filed in Oklahoma courts and other first-party insurance defense matters. Key duties include:
- Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
- Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value upon request by the Claims Department.
- Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath.
- Defending cases by trial or dispositive hearing as applicable.
Education and Experience Information:
- A is required for this position.
- Admission to the Oklahoma Bar is mandatory.
- Candidates must be licensed and in good standing to practice law in Oklahoma City and meet licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements.
- Candidates must possess 2-6+ years of experience in related field litigation, specifically in insurance/defense or personal injury.
- Civil litigation experience and insurance defense-related litigation experience are preferred.
- The candidate must be able to travel as required for trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.
- Strong organizational, conflict resolution, and multi-tasking skills are essential.
- The ability to document files clearly and professionally is required.
- Candidates should be able to follow complex instructions and learn large amounts of technical and procedural information.
- Professional communication skills in person, via telephone, and through written correspondence/email are necessary.
Salary Information:
The annual salary for the Associate Counsel position ranges from $104, to $185,. The final salary offer considers multiple factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, work location, as well as market and business considerations.
