As an Associate Attorney for our government takings practice, your responsibilities will include evaluating potential claims, providing legal advice to prospective clients, representing and negotiating on behalf of clients, drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting legal research, and gathering relevant evidence. You will also be responsible for analyzing and interpreting maps and instruments of real property conveyance, conducting real estate title examinations when necessary, and managing a support team. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to negotiate settlement agreements when appropriate.
To qualify for this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctor, as well as be licensed in any state since cases are filed in the . Court of Federal Claims. You must also be eligible for admission to the . Court of Federal Claims. Strong drafting, research, negotiation, and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required, as well as the ability to handle multiple projects with competing priorities and meet deadlines. Willingness to travel is also required. Demonstrated competency in government takings/real property law, real estate terminology, and federal constitutional law is preferred. Fluency in Spanish, both verbal and written, is also preferred.
