Job Title: Tax Senior Manager, ASC740

Job Responsibilities:

1. Tax Compliance
- Ensure clients comply with all applicable tax authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
- Ensure self and client service teams comply with all company policies, standards, and the company Tax Quality Manual (TQM).
- Conduct top-level review of tax returns and resolve all tax issues with clients, involving specialists as needed.
- Communicate any issues identified in tax accrual reviews with clients and Assurance.
- Plan and review tax processes and procedures, including budgeting, staffing, monitoring engagement processes, billing, and timely collection of accounts receivable.
- Manage client relationships and expectations according to the project.
- Provide timely advice to clients.

2. Research
- Identify when research is needed and report analyses clearly and concisely.
- Identify complex issues for research by the engagement team and provide research methodology.
- Train managers and staff on research skills and frame ASC 740 tax issues for analysis.
- Involve company specialists as appropriate.

3. ASC 740-10 Tax Accruals
- Apply company policies, standards, and TQM regarding ASC 740 correctly and proactively.
- Explain and discuss components of the income tax provision and uncertain tax positions with clients.
- Communicate with the Assurance team to plan tax accrual reviews, including budget, scope, and delivery dates.
- Review tax provisions and apply in-depth knowledge of ASC 740.
- Review prepared workpapers and manage Specialized Tax Services (STS) as needed.

4. Tax Consulting
- Assist with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing current and future taxes.
- Develop and implement work plans, including organizing STS assistance on ongoing projects.
- Serve as a technical resource and ensure compliance with company policy regarding Written Tax Advice (WTA).
- Provide assistance with exam support and frame projects for effective delegation.

5. Tax Specialization
- Develop an understanding of technical and practical issues regarding taxation, including individual, corporate, property, sales, pass-through, state and local, international, expatriate, transfer pricing, credits and incentives, compensation and benefits, accounting methods, and R&D tax benefits.
- Organize and conduct effective internal CPE training sessions in the area of specialization.
- Train and mentor managers, seniors, and associates on ASC 740.

6. Strategy Development
- Introduce and develop new ideas to improve the position of clients and the company.
- Lead marketing campaigns and present complex strategies to clients and prospective clients.
- Collaborate with the company’s National Tax and Specialized Tax Services to deliver high-quality deliverables and analyses on ASC 740.

7. Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise associates and senior associates on all projects.
- Review work prepared by associates and senior associates and provide review comments.
- Train associates and seniors on current software tools.
- Act as a Career Advisor to associates and senior associates.
- Schedule and manage workload for associates and senior associates.
- Provide verbal and written performance feedback to associates and senior associates.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation, required.
- Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation, preferred.

Experience:
- Eight or more years of prior experience, required.
- Experience in managing the preparation and auditing of ASC740 computations for both privately held and publicly traded clients, required.
- Prior supervisory experience, required.
- Multinational client experience, preferred.

License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) or equivalent, required.

Software:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat, preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases such as BNA and RIA, and proficiency in tax compliance process software including GoFileRoom, GoSystemRS, Caseware, BNA Depreciation Software, or comparable programs, preferred.
