Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a Real Estate Associate to support its Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 3 to 6 years of experience in affordable housing or real estate law. The role focuses on representing both nonprofit and for-profit developers in all aspects of affordable multifamily housing transactions, including development, acquisition, financing, rehabilitation, operation, and sale. This position offers the chance to work with a nationally active practice from a central Florida location, contributing to a collaborative and impactful legal team.

Location:

  • Orlando, Florida

Duties:

  • Represent developers (for-profit and nonprofit) in affordable multifamily housing projects

  • Advise clients on development, acquisition, construction, rehabilitation, and financing

  • Navigate and apply federal, state, and local affordable housing programs

  • Draft and negotiate real estate and financing documentation

  • Support transactions from initiation through closing and post-closing phases

  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff within a high-performing legal team

Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of legal experience in real estate or affordable housing practice

  • Proven background in developer representation and financing for residential/commercial projects

  • Strong understanding of tax credit structures, affordable housing laws, and program compliance

  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong project management ability

  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal issues and transactions independently

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • LLM preferred, but not required

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of affordable housing programs and tax credit financing

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage client relationships and expectations

  • Effective team collaboration and independent work ethic

  • Commitment to quality, professionalism, and service excellence
