Key Responsibilities:

- Serve as the internal expert on open source licensing, regulations, and policy at Anaconda.
- Develop and execute patent strategy and product protection initiatives while balancing open source priorities.
- Provide legal guidance on product development and community relations related to open source.
- Utilize networking and expertise in open source policy and community issues to shape Anaconda's approach and engage with influential groups.
- Support various legal needs of a high-growth company, including contracts negotiation, product counseling, and IP asset management.
- Establish scalable legal processes and track key operational and business metrics.
- Mentor and train internal teams on open source legal frameworks and best practices.
- Act as a strategic business partner, advising leadership on legal matters critical to growth and innovation.

Requirements:

- JD or equivalent from an accredited law school and license to practice in an applicable jurisdiction.
- Multiple years of relevant legal experience, including in-house experience.
- Seasoned open source attorney with expertise in licensing and IP protection.
- Deep engagement with open source issues and communities.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- A defined perspective and experience with data science, AI, and related legal and compliance issues.

Salary Information:

- US base salary range for this role is $225,000-$275,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
