Job Description:

- Provide legal counsel to various program areas within the New York City Department of Social Services/Human Resources Administration, including cash assistance, emergency assistance, SNAP benefits, Medicaid, home care services, services for survivors of domestic violence and clients living with HIV/AIDS, and supportive and career services.
- Draft legal opinions and litigation documents, as well as represent the Agency in court proceedings and administrative hearings.
- Provide litigation support to the New York City Law Department.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Graduation from an accredited United States law school or admission to the New York State Bar.

- Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Legal experience in public interest law or government.
