- Draft and prosecute patent applications worldwide
- Manage US and foreign patent counsel
- Strategically maintain and grow Lutron's patent and trademark portfolios
- Assist marketing, sales, and business leaders in branding and trademark strategies
- Conduct patent and trademark searches and provide assessments
- Build relationships with technical and business leaders
- Provide proactive and cost-effective IP advice
- Continually improve IP department processes
- Stay updated on US and global IP laws and technology developments
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant discipline
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- USPTO Patent Bar registration
- Licensed attorney in one or more states
- 7+ years of patent application drafting and prosecution experience
- Experience in both law firm and in-house settings preferred
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
- 1+ year of software or hardware engineering experience preferred
- Experience in electrical and software patent applications preferred
- Trademark experience preferred
