Job Title: Legal Internship, Fall Job Responsibilities: - Participate in the Legal Internship Program during the fall semester within the Public Protection and Advocacy Bureau. - Work within specific divisions such as the Consumer Advocacy and Response Division (CARD), which assists in resolving disputes with businesses and provides referrals to consumer assistance services. - Engage in activities related to the Massachusetts False Claims Act, including potential actions against securities professionals who mislead or defraud municipalities or state government entities. - Assist in various legal tasks as assigned by the division within the Attorney General’s Office. - Collaborate with division staff and contribute to the protection of Massachusetts residents from discrimination, fraud, unfair labor or business practices, and other crimes. Education and Experience Information: - Candidates must be currently enrolled in law school to be eligible for the legal internship program. - Individuals who have completed law school are not eligible for this internship program. - Legal interns are chosen on a case-by-case basis depending on the needs and requests of individual divisions within the Attorney General’s Office. Salary Information: - The legal internship positions offered by the Attorney General’s Office are unpaid.
