Position Summary:
- Seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional with experience in tax-exempt organizations to join Deloitte's Business Tax Services Tax-Exempt practice.

What You'll Do:
- Spend at least half (potentially 100%) of time serving non-profit clients including health care providers/plans, private foundations, public charities, and other organizations.
- Provide tax compliance and consulting services including restructuring, acquisition planning, tax controversy, philanthropic tax planning, and more.
- Work directly with sophisticated clients, manage tax engagement team, and collaborate with Tax-Exempt specialists from across the country.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships on federal tax consulting/compliance engagements.
- Advise clients on tax issues including compliance, business restructuring, exemption strategies, philanthropic and charitable giving planning, and tax controversy.
- Oversee federal tax compliance and consulting projects for various entities and affiliates.
- Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing.
- Provide technical training, leadership, counseling, and career guidance for engagement team.
The Team:
- National team of experienced professionals dedicated to serving non-profit organizations and donors.
- Comprised of PPMDS and specialists in multi-state tax compliance, international tax compliance and consulting, and transfer tax planning.
- Collaborates with colleagues in Consulting, Audit & Assurance, and Advisory for client planning projects.
- Cross-functional team of tax, audit, and consulting professionals from Deloitte's Global Center for Excellence in Philanthropy (GCEP).
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model.
- 5+ years' experience in federal taxation with a strong emphasis on tax-exempt organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
- Active accreditation as a CPA, attorney, enrolled agent, or certifications such as CFA or CFP.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree (Masters of Tax, JD, or LLM).
- Previous experience at Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Strong understanding and experience with federal tax compliance, analysis, and research.
- Familiarity with mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring for tax-exempt organizations.
- Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Management experience.
- Analytical skills.
Salary Information:
- Wage range estimated to be $84,980 to $193,440, taking into account various factors such as skills, experience, certifications, and location.
- Eligible for discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
