Job Title:
Tax Manager, International Tax Services
Job Responsibilities:
- Advise multinational clients across various industries on the tax implications related to their business objectives.
- Recommend alternative courses of action and identify different methods for tax compliance.
- Manage international tax consulting projects, identifying planning and optimization needs, developing solutions, and coordinating the implementation process between clients and internal/external teams.
- Assess international tax filing obligations for multinational structures, review international tax returns, and oversee the international tax compliance process.
- Serve as a career advisor, train, and develop tax associates.
- Engage in marketing, networking, and business development.
- Assist clients and internal teams in developing international tax strategies, interpreting tax laws, and maximizing client benefits.
- Coordinate completion of international tax compliance/reporting requirements and manage client expectations.
- Develop workplans for tax consulting projects and identify financial reporting and cash tax impacts.
- Apply knowledge of transfer pricing and foreign tax regimes.
- Specialize in international tax issues and conduct internal training sessions.
- Develop a network with professionals in foreign jurisdictions.
- Identify complex situations for research, analyze facts, and compose detailed research reports.
- Prepare Written Tax Advice (WTA) and consult with the National Tax Office.
- Manage client engagements and conduct detailed reviews of international aspects of . tax reporting.
- Represent clients before the IRS on contested issues.
- Apply standards, firm policies, and Tax Quality Manual requirements.
- Review international aspects of tax provisions and coordinate with colleagues in non-US jurisdictions.
- Train others in international tax aspects of ASC 740.
- Supervise the workload of International Tax Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns, ensuring their technical development.
- Deliver performance feedback and complete evaluations for team members.
- Act as a mentor to team members.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Accounting or another business-related major preferred.
- Juris Doctorate degree, LLM, and/or MST/MBT preferred.
Experience:
- Four or more years of experience in corporate tax, international tax, or legal professional services, or equivalent experience through an advanced degree program required.
- Experience in international tax required.
- Prior experience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis preferred.
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) required.
Software:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
- Experience with RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, and/or Westlaw preferred.
