Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in criminal defense proceedings, including hearings and appeals

  • Provide legal counsel regarding the implications of criminal charges

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis of relevant laws and regulations

  • Prepare and file legal documents such as motions, briefs, and applications for relief

  • Collaborate with legal professionals, community organizations, and advocacy groups

  • Regularly update clients on case progress and legal strategies

  • Stay informed on changes in criminal law and relevant case law

  • Conduct community outreach and educate the public on criminal justice issues

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (Required)

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar (Required)

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in criminal defense and post-conviction relief (Required)

  • Strong understanding of the criminal legal system (Required)

  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills (Required)

  • Strong negotiation and mediation abilities (Required)

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural competency (Required)

  • Commitment to social justice and client-centered advocacy (Required)

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (Preferred)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (Required)

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar (Required)
