Job Title: Litigation Docket Analyst
Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Docket Analyst at the law firm is tasked with managing and maintaining the firm’s litigation docket calendar. Key responsibilities include analyzing documents to establish deadlines using applicable jurisdictional court rules within the firm’s docketing software, ensuring the accuracy of docketed events and deadlines, and resolving any conflicting data prior to entry. The analyst is responsible for generating and distributing both routine and customized litigation docket reports and providing guidance to attorneys and legal staff on understanding the content of these reports. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting docketing issues, participating in virtual team meetings within the department, and assisting the Dockets Team with various projects as needed.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Litigation Docket Analyst position must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. While a Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate is preferred, it is not mandatory. The role strongly prefers candidates with two or more years of previous docketing experience; however, three or more years of experience in a legal environment may be considered as an alternative to direct docketing experience. Familiarity with CompuLaw or other rules-based automated docketing systems is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and a Document Management System (DMS), is required. Candidates should also be familiar with PACER, PacerPro, and other legal resources or websites to obtain case-related data. A strong knowledge of court rules and civil procedure is essential. Additionally, candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment, while also being a flexible team member.
Salary Information:
The estimated national average salary for the Litigation Docket Analyst position is between $45,000 and $91,000. The starting salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
