Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Prioritizing and executing tasks quickly and accurately. Formatting and setting up documents including pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents. Prepare shell documents for attorneys in preparation of discovery, orders, motions, and trial documents. Filing litigation documents with state and federal courts - knowledge of electronic filing is required. Update and maintain files in a timely manner. Time entry, processing client bills, conducting client conflict checks, transcribing dictation. Maintain calendars with litigation dates and deadlines as well as other necessary dates. Reviewing vendor invoices and requesting checks for payment in a timely manner. Assisting attorneys and paralegals in preparation for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials.

Candidate will have 3+ years of legal experience; have administrative experience, exceptional communication and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within a group or independently. Should be proficient in MS Word (high priority), Outlook and Excel and type at 65 words per minute with high accuracy. This position will support several attorneys. Should be detail oriented and able to work well in a fast paced environment. Excellent proofreading skills.
