Compliance Counsel - Market Area North America
Ericsson, a leading global provider of hardware and software solutions, is seeking an experienced Compliance Counsel to join our team in Plano, Texas. As a Compliance Counsel, you will play a critical role in maintaining Ericsson's Ethics and Compliance Program and providing tactical advice on anti-bribery and corruption and fraud prevention. You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, to implement and enhance our compliance program. This role requires a strategic leader with strong subject matter expertise and exceptional analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and promote a culture of compliance, transparency, and integrity within the organization
- Implement initiatives to strengthen ethics and integrity, specifically regarding fraud prevention, anti-bribery and corruption, and compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
- Handle compliance-related issues, applying legal, regulatory, and policy considerations
- Independently manage multiple matters, prioritizing based on risk and importance
- Lead, plan, and execute programmatic initiatives or solutions to compliance problems
- Provide clear and concise updates on compliance matters to stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and third parties, on compliance needs
- Maintain a strong understanding of local business activities, Ericsson processes, and applicable laws and regulations
- Assess risks and develop measures to mitigate risks
- Identify local compliance priorities and plan and prioritize activities accordingly
- Contribute to the development of compliance-related documents and assist with implementation as needed
- Manage reporting and communication regarding compliance-related misconduct, investigations, and remediation efforts
- Assist with compliance-related merger and acquisition due diligence and integration activities
- Draft clear and concise compliance-related reports, presentations, and summaries
- Participate in cross-functional compliance meetings and boards
- Act with integrity, objectivity, and fairness
Requirements:
- Juris doctorate and appropriate local license to practice law
- 8+ years of experience in compliance and/or legal, with specific experience in anti-bribery and corruption compliance
- In-depth understanding of compliance-related laws and regulations, particularly anti-bribery and corruption
- Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle high-stakes and fast-moving situations
- Ability to handle multiple matters at once and communicate shifting priorities and updates to key stakeholders
- International experience and cultural awareness
- Independent, goal-oriented, and self-driven
- Excellent networking and social skills
- Fluent in English, second language desirable
- Willingness to travel up to 30%
