Job Title: Tax Senior Manager, Digital Assets
Job Responsibilities:
1. **Tax Compliance:**
- Ensure clients comply with applicable authorities and minimize their tax and reporting burdens while adhering to company policies, standards, and the Tax Quality Manual (TQM).
- Apply an understanding of a client’s unique circumstances and prepare required filings (tax returns) to ensure full compliance with laws.
- Collect necessary data to comply with filing requirements and identify missing items for return preparation.
- Utilize company compliance software to enhance efficiency in the tax preparation process.
- Collaborate with Principals, Tax Managers, Tax Seniors, and Associates on project completion.
- Deliver high-quality federal, state, and international tax compliance services.
- Lead complex engagements with a team of tax professionals, managing the engagement, billing, collections, and budget for projects.
- Build and manage client relationships, ensuring documentation of client work and conclusions in the client tax file.
2. **Research:**
- Identify when research is needed, frame issues clearly for research, and report analysis concisely.
- Identify complex issues for the engagement team to research and provide research methodology for efficient processes.
- Train managers and staff on research skills and help frame tax issues for analysis.
- Involve firm specialists as appropriate.
3. **Tax Consulting:**
- Assist in identifying, developing, recommending, and implementing methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing current and future taxes.
- Lead clients in legal entity structuring, token genesis events, deal analysis, revenue recognition, sourcing, and implementation of tax objectives.
- Prepare and lead client meetings on advisory and compliance projects related to tax planning opportunities and tax implications of transactions.
4. **Other Duties:**
- Perform other duties as required.
5. **Supervisory Responsibilities:**
- Manage teams of Managers, Tax Seniors, and Associates.
Education and Experience Information:
1. **Education:**
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
2. **Experience:**
- Eight or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience required.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Experience in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry, supporting lab companies, NFT creators, stablecoins, infrastructure companies, exchanges, and corporations engaging with crypto/blockchain solutions preferred.
3. **License/Certifications:**
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) required.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role preferred.
4. **Software:**
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases preferred.
- Proficiency in tax compliance process software preferred.
