Job Title: Counsel (Electrical Engineering)
Job Responsibilities:
This position at a global law firm involves contributing to pioneering patent prosecution work in the fields of 5G, Wi-Fi, and other wireless technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end. The successful candidate will be expected to manage and develop patent portfolios, liaise with clients, and contribute to the growth of the firm's practice. The role offers opportunities for advancement to Senior Counsel and potentially Partnership based on performance and contributions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling patent prosecution tasks with a focus on cutting-edge technologies.
- Collaborating with clients to develop and manage their patent portfolios.
- Contributing to the firm's practice growth through significant professional achievements.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess an Electrical Engineering degree or its equivalent and have at least two years of patent prosecution experience. It is essential for applicants to be registered with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) or be qualified to register. Additionally, candidates must be admitted to and in good standing with the Bar or eligible to waive in. A strong background in wireless technologies, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end is required. Preferred experience includes autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields. Excellent academic credentials and strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
Salary Information:
The full-time base annual salary for this position in the New York City, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco markets is expected to range between $225,000 and $315,000. This range represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting for these locations. Salaries in other markets will vary depending on market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
