Job Title: Assistant Corporation Counsel

Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Corporation Counsel will work within the Commercial and Real Estate Litigation Division. This part-time position involves representing the City and related entities in various disputes concerning their real estate dealings and property interests. Key duties include:
- Representing the City in landlord-tenant disputes, quiet title actions, and breach of contract cases.
- Initiating affirmative cases such as RPAPL 881 proceedings, encroachment, and ejectment cases.
- Providing legal counseling to clients regarding real estate-related interests.
- Handling litigation primarily in state court, which often involves novel legal questions and complex analytical, investigative, and strategic challenges.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an ABA-accredited law school.
- Must have a minimum of three years of legal experience.
- Must be admitted and in good standing in New York State.
- Should possess strong legal writing and analytical skills.
- Must demonstrate excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this part-time position is to per hour.
