Job Title: Trial Attorney - NYC/Long Island (Remote Home-Based Worker)
Job Responsibilities:
The role of a Senior Consultant II at the company involves representing insureds and the company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation, and financial cases. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing for and conducting settlements and dispositive proceedings such as mediations and arbitrations.
- Engaging in court appearances, including matter management conferences, hearings, and status conferences.
- Investigating and pursuing subrogation litigation where appropriate.
- Preparing for, trying, and arbitrating cases, and preparing motions in limine and summary documents.
- Reviewing new file assignments and all documentary evidence, approving initial pleadings, propounding discovery, and developing strategies.
- Preparing witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials, including expert witnesses.
- Contacting clients to discuss their cases and answer any questions they may have.
- Conducting depositions and examinations under oath and preparing summary documents.
- Keeping claim business partners updated on the status of cases, including initial client contact, litigation plans, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, and pre-trials.
Education:
- A 4-year Bachelor's Degree is required.
- A Juris Doctor degree is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience is preferred for this position.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This job does not have supervisory duties.
Compensation:
The compensation for this role ranges from $66, to $120, annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Additional Information:
Candidates offered this position will be required to undergo a background investigation. The company generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position.
