Associate Attorney The candidate will handle case management as well as significant client communication and interaction during case preparation and consultation. Will litigate cases before the Executive Office for Immigration Review; Represent clients before the Department of Homeland Security; and other immigration agencies. Will also represent children before State of New York/New Jersey family courts for custody cases that may result in SIJS adjudication from USCIS. The position calls for concise and memorandum writing, drafting technical replies to government inquiries and objections, and analyzing information provided by our clients. Will represent clients in litigation before the Executive Office for Immigration Review in various forms of relief. Will be responsible for client communication, brief writing for asylum claims, particular social group briefing, and witness preparation for trial. Responsibilities : Represent clients in Master Calendar Hearings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review; Represent clients in Individual Calendar Hearings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review; Prepare briefings in support of Asylum Applications; Particular Social Group Claims; and other briefing in support of the client's application for relief; Meet Court deadlines in evidence submission; witness list submission; and briefing; Represent clients in State Family Courts in custody proceedings that may lead to an SIJS adjudication by USCIS; Will work from home, except for days in which a client has a hearing at the Immigration Court or at the State Family Court, traveling to/from Court; to attend interview appointments scheduled at USCIS or the Court; to meet with clients at the office; and to travel to/from the airport/train station on occasions when the associate attorney will travel; to meet with staff at Law Firm or to meet with vendors/stakeholders at the law firm. Should be a recent graduate passionate about immigration law. NY/NJ BAR Admission Required. Llicensed in New York (Required); Licensed in New Jersey (Preferred).
