Job Title: Associate General Counsel, Network Legal – Remote
Job Responsibilities:
The Associate General Counsel for Network Legal at the company is tasked with providing legal support to the Southeast Region network markets within the Network Legal Team. This role involves collaboration with a team of attorneys and legal professionals across the enterprise to serve as counsel to leadership in the development, structuring, and execution of all aspects of the company’s relationships with healthcare providers. The primary responsibilities include drafting and negotiating contracts with the largest and most complex healthcare provider partners, managing the resolution of disputes, supporting arbitration proceedings, and drafting settlement agreements. The role also requires acquiring deep knowledge of the industry and the specific business practices of the company’s provider network operations. The lawyer in this role will also directly participate in the negotiation of the largest provider contracts in their assigned states and support a large team of personnel in various legal needs, including pre-litigation contractual disputes and negotiations. Additionally, this position will support enterprise-wide priorities related to the provider network, including affordability projects and innovative new product expansions.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for this position are required to have a Juris Doctorate degree and a current license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction. The position requires a minimum of 5+ years of legal experience, with a background in healthcare and managed care contracting. Experience with regulatory agencies and administrative experience with state insurance regulations is also essential. The candidate should possess knowledge of ., state contract, corporate healthcare, and regulatory law, along with an understanding of healthcare benefit coverage and medical policy development. Demonstrated understanding of business problems related to assigned legal projects is necessary, as is the ability to evaluate and determine appropriate legal courses of action to meet business unit needs. The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external company contacts, along with having demonstrated presentation skills. Proven success in collaborating across a matrixed business and legal environment, as well as proven written and verbal communication skills, is also required.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Associate General Counsel, Network Legal position is between $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Compensation is determined by several factors, including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. The company complies with all applicable minimum wage laws. In addition to the salary, the company offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contributions, subject to eligibility requirements.
