Job Title: Legal Secretary/Assistant Transactional
Job Responsibilities:
The Transactional Legal Assistant at a law firm is tasked with providing secretarial and administrative support to attorneys. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing legal documents for filing with various courts across different jurisdictions.
- Handling completed work, managing telephone calls, and organizing conference calls with attorneys, clients, and staff.
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail.
- Opening new client matters and files, as well as managing time sheets and expense reports.
- Scheduling and coordinating conferences, meetings, and appointments.
- Coordinating travel arrangements.
- Managing workflow efficiently.
- Providing assistance to visitors, summer associates, and attorneys whose assistants are absent.
- Accepting overflow work from other assistants to ensure smooth operations within the firm.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates are required to have:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Transactional Legal Assistant or in a similar field.
- Experience with state and federal courts.
- Strong calendaring and proofreading skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- The ability to meet deadlines and respond effectively to changing priorities.
Salary Information:
The position offers a salary range of $55, to $65, per year, as provided by the employer.
