Job Title: Vice President, Litigation (Retail Litigation Center)

Job Responsibilities:

The Vice President of Litigation at the **Members Only** is a pivotal role aimed at addressing and preventing emerging litigation trends affecting the retail industry. Reporting directly to the RLC's President, this position is central to the organization's success. The responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with chief legal officers and top corporate retail litigators to prevent and respond to mass action litigation.
- Hosting regular meetings with RLC member counsel to strategize on key litigation issues.
- Researching and analyzing emerging litigation waves to formulate counter-strategies.
- Convening and working directly with in-house counsel at leading retail companies to tackle newly emerging and persistent litigation targeting the retail and consumer-facing industries.
- Partnering with RLC law firm members to develop materials and programming for the benefit of RLC retail members and to highlight RLC law firm members.
- Identifying the best cases for RLC participation as amicus by reviewing dockets, connecting with RLC law firm and retail members, and vetting requests for amicus support.
- Developing legal strategies and arguments, and reviewing/editing briefs drafted by outside counsel.
- Keeping abreast of public policy issues impacting the retail industry and coordinating with the RILA public policy team on litigation strategies.
- Leading the RLC's weekly publications: Courtside with the Retail Litigation Center and Courtside Connections.
- Ensuring that the RLC website accurately reflects the scope of the RLC's work.

Education and Experience Information:

- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school and membership in at least one state bar.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of litigation experience in a law firm and/or corporate legal department.
- Experience in evaluating demand letters, developing pre-litigation strategies, and corporate defense, with a sophisticated understanding of commercial litigation.
- Skills in facilitating and leading group discussions toward productive outcomes.
- A strong desire to find connections and build bridges within the industry.
- Willingness to learn, engage, and recommend improvements.
- Excellent legal analytical, organizational, and writing skills.
- Self-starter with robust project management skills.
- Proficiency with PC and Microsoft technology.
- Additional consideration for experience with arbitral bodies and aptitude with the press and social media.

Salary Information:

The compensation for the Vice President of Litigation position ranges from $200,000 to $220,000. The benefits package includes:
